My wife and I, although only young students of Christian Science, have had some wonderful demonstrations of its healing power, for which we are humbly grateful.
I should like to express my thanks and gratitude for my first healing in Christian Science, which took place almost four years ago. While under the care of a physician, I was bedfast for some four weeks with mumps. Showing no improvement, I decided to try Christian Science. Around three o'clock in the afternoon, I called a Christian Science friend, who is not a practitioner, for help, and for the first time began to read the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The next morning at about ten o'clock, I went out in the sleet and snow and suffered no ill effects. In less than a week from then I was back at my regular duties, entirely free from the ailment.
Since taking up the study of Science, I have been absent from my work because of illness for only one half a day. I came in from my work on a Friday night with the symptoms of influenza so severe that I called a practitioner for help, and on the following Sunday morning I was in my place as an usher in a branch church.
