In "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 188) our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes, "It is the translator, not the original Word, who presents as being first that which appears second, material, and mortal; and as last, that which is primal, spiritual, and eternal." This passage so illumined my consciousness as to the falsity of the laws of heredity which hold us in bondage to the Adam-dream, or second and false sense of creation and man, that an immediate healing of internal adhesions took place.
About seven years previous to this healing I had submitted to a major operation for this trouble, and had been told that there was no permanent cure in materia medica. This healing in Christian Science took place twelve years ago and has been permanent.
For the instantaneous healings of knotted shoulder muscles and ptomaine poisoning, I am deeply grateful. For membership in The Mother Church, active membership in a branch church, and class instruction, all bringing increased spiritual understanding and growth, I thank God daily.
