Testimonies of Healing

We may often pause, in the days...

From the November 1942 issue of The Christian Science Journal

We may often pause, in the days of our pilgrimage from sense to Soul, reverently to give thanks for all the good that has come to us in proving that God is. "Giving" and "serving" are the watchwords, so again I can give testimony to the efficacy of this healing truth and to what Christian Science has done for me.

About twenty years ago the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was left in our home. No one was particularly interested in it, but often my mother and I picked it up and read it, knowing it had value and trying to understand it. We did not know what foundational thoughts were being laid merely through the reading of the book. Evidently the door of thought was open, and the healing Christ came in. I give humble gratitude for my first copy of the textbook, and for the privilege since then of being able to place many other copies where they have brought forth fruit.

Through reliance on the teachings of this wonderful revelation, and through faith and understanding, I have been healed of many conditions of disease. Anxiety, discouragement, fear, have been met by holding to Truth. Difficulties such as nervous breakdown, tumors, heart trouble, peritonitis, influenza, and many claims of false theology, have been overcome in Christian Science for me and my family. Superstitions held to for many years have had to be broken and God's supremacy recognized. For this awakening and for the sense of dominion over the claims of such superstition, occultism, fatalism, I am grateful. I am finding daily that Science helps me in doing my protective work against the aggressive suggestions of war. I thank God for trust in Him and that He has strengthened my heart. For all the activities of The Mother Church, for its branch churches, and for its ever-ministering activities toward mankind, I am profoundly grateful.—
