SEEK AS JESUS SOUGHT

From the November 1942 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The great Exemplar, Christ Jesus, in his Sermon on the Mount, taught and demonstrated many facts for the benefit of humanity, one of which is the proving of the abundance of supply. To those anxious about being fed and clothed, Jesus said, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Supply is solved like any other problem, by seeking God's kingdom first. Seeking, therefore, must be for spiritual, not material gain.

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, points out very clearly in all her writings that the teachings and example of Christ Jesus must be followed and used in proving God's goodness and love in all the affairs of mankind. She states in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 270,)"To seek or employ other means than those the Master used in demonstrating Life scientifically, is to lose the priceless knowledge of his Principle and practice;" and she asked us to follow her only as she followed Christ.
