Christ Jesus said, "Neither shall they say, Lo here! or. lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." On page 476 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes, "When speaking of God's children, not the children of men, Jesus said, 'The kingdom of God is within you;' that is, Truth and Love reign in the real man, showing that man in God's image is unfallen and eternal."
In the first chapter of Genesis it is clearly stated that man is made in the image and likeness of God; therefore it is obvious that this is the only real man. The kingdom of God, the kingdom of divine perfection, cannot be found within the limits of a so-called material man, which is an illusive concept, a counterfeit of the real man.
God is Spirit; therefore His kingdom is spiritual. It is a spiritually mental state and cannot be limited to material place or time, cannot be cognized through the physical senses. "The kingdom of God cometh not with observation," said Jesus. It already exists and is brought to light in individual consciousness through spiritual enlightenment.
