For eleven years Christian Science has been my guide and stay. I have relied on it constantly, and the attendant blessings have been liberally poured out. It has sustained me during great sorrow, healing me instantaneously of grief. It has ministered to me during a time of persecution, and shielded me from the pharisaical thought of which our Master said, "Yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service."
By learning the lessons of humility and obedience, I was lifted out of a position where injustice seemed to hold sway, and into another position with an increase in salary, where I found a happier and more peaceful environment. In a preliminary interview the officer in charge, on learning that I had never done this type of work before, spared no words in informing me that I would be dismissed without a recommendation in the event I did not make good. Although I had been studying Science only about a year at the time, I had glimpsed enough of the truth of its teachings to know that it would see me through this experience; so, alone with God, I set about to trust in Him daily. Knowing there is but one Mind and that it is all knowing, I was enabled to carry on with a great degree of efficiency, rating a promotion at the end of a year.
A severe cough was overcome when I rid my thoughts of criticism, replacing them with thoughts of love for my fellow man.
