On page 13 of the Christian Science...

From the December 1944 issue of The Christian Science Journal

On page 13 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy writes, "Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals." I am happy to relate my experiences in Christian Science in order that others may share the blessing of universal Love.

I had been under medical care for fourteen years, taking much medicine, and life had become a burden. I was suffering from a heart condition for which the medical profession could offer no cure, and had been told that I must live an abnormally inactive life in my leisure time in order to continue my work.

Then I attended some Christian Science testimony meetings and heard that this religion heals. I sought a Christian Science practitioner and asked for treatment. This was lovingly given. It was also pointed out to me that man is always the perfect child of God, Love. With the help of the practitioner, daily study of the Lesson-Sermons, and the reading of Christian Science literature, my outlook on life was changed. I began to see that man. being the offspring of Spirit, is spiritual and cannot be governed by material laws. As thought was lifted above material sense the physical condition improved, until now I am able to live a normal life with varied responsibilities and continual activity. I am able to do harmoniously all that I am called upon to do, am on my feet most of the time, and often walk several miles in the course of a day.
