Our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, tells us in "Retrospection and Introspection" (p. 93), "The best spiritual type of Christly method for uplifting human thought and imparting divine Truth, is stationary power, stillness, and strength; and when this spiritual ideal is made our own, it becomes the model for human action." I have had proof of the healing power of divine Science.
One Sunday in February our weekly Lesson-Sermon was on the subject of Love. I had studied the Lesson during the week, taught it to the class in Sunday school, and later heard it read from the desk at eleven o'clock. Still, when the hour arrived for the evening broadcast from The Mother Church, I went to the radio with a prayer in my heart to our dear Father that a fuller revelation of His love would be unfolded in my consciousness.
A number of hymns, the words of which were on the subject of Love, were played on the chimes of The Mother Church before the service. Each hymn was announced, then played verse by verse. I followed the words in the Hymnal, and had a wonderful sense of the omnipresence of God's great love, embracing, healing, and saving all mankind.
