I feel it my profound duty to testify to what the love of our Father-Mother God has done for me, and to express my gratitude.
In 1923 the light of Truth was revealed to me through a woman who was then just an acquaintance. She visited me at the hospital where I was recuperating after a complicated operation for stomach, liver, and gall-bladder adhesions, the operation having been preceded by other major operations.
One day I questioned the surgeon seriously regarding my future. Compassionately he told me, "Unless you have another operation which may lengthen your life five or six months, your days are numbered, and you must thank God for every hour given you." The nurses who were caring for me were also evidently preparing me for the end. I was quite reconciled; I might even say happy.
