The testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals have been inspiring to me for more than fifteen years. My gratitude for them prompts me to add my own written testimony, hoping that it will help some struggling heart.
My first healing was of constipation. Ever since childhood I was given medicine of every kind to help cure this condition. After taking up the study of Christian Science and with the aid of a practitioner, I was freed from the belief that I was dependent upon drugs. Although there was no action for nine days, I was able to carry on my work each day without any ill effects. I realized that to complete the demonstration, however, I must dispose of all medicine on which I had been relying. Upon taking that stand, I was completely freed from the ailment, and the healing has been permanent.
The birth of our baby was a demonstration of Christian Science healing. Three days before she was born I visited the physician, who said that the child would not be born for about six weeks, and because of my condition he arranged for me to go to the hospital the following week for a Caesarean operation. I left his office very much disturbed and went immediately to see the practitioner, who audibly declared the truth about God's creation until my fears were calmed. Three days later, to the doctor's surprise, the baby was born.
