I have been grateful for many years that I accepted Christian Science without question when it was presented to me in a time of great need. I was suffering from a very badly diseased limb and a serious internal disorder due to the pending birth of a child. I had been told by a reputable physician that there should be an operation, although, he said, even this might not save the child's life, I was very fearful and refused to have the operation, and for about six weeks used various material remedies and medicines, only to become so much worse that I could hardly do my work and care for our other child, I was in constant pain and very frightened, because I did not know where to turn for help.
At this point Christian Science was presented to me by my mother-in-law, who was becoming much interested in the study of this Science. A practitioner was consulted, and with my consent treatment was begun at once. I was asked to rely solely on Truth, and in obedience to this request f destroyed all the material remedies which t had in the house.
After about six weeks I was perfectly healed: the internal disorder disappeared, and I have perfect use of my limb. The birth of the little daughter was normal in every way. This occurred over thirty-eight years ago. At the time of the birth the attending physician told me that I should not have any more children, but two strong, healthy sons have been born to us since that time, and there has never been a return of any of the previous symptoms.
