Testimonies of Healing

In heartfelt gratitude to God I wish to...

From the December 1952 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In heartfelt gratitude to God I wish to acknowledge publicly a few of the many blessings He has bestowed on me through my study of Christian Science. This is done with the hope that someone needing this particular testimony may be encouraged and benefited.

For many years I had a very slight acquaintance with Christian Science through members of my family. Although I was willing for them to go to church and Sunday School, I myself was not much interested in their religion. This figurative stone of indifference was to be shattered and dissolved quite suddenly. About six years ago I became severely ill. The case was diagnosed as a kidney stone, and this diagnosis was confirmed by an X ray. The doctors advised an operation, but while they were waiting for my consent I was led to try Christian Science.

A consecrated student of this Science gave me spiritual medicine in the form of the ninety-first Psalm and the first two chapters of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy while she worked on my case. Within four days the kidney stone broke into tiny fragments, which passed off naturally. From that day forward I pursued the study of Christian Science in earnest, proving that "coldness and stubbornness," as "rock" is defined in part by Mrs. Eddy on page 593 of Science and Health, had been effectively broken up as well.
