Testimonies of Healing

One generation shall praise thy works...

From the December 1952 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts" (Ps. 145:4). The truth of these words has been proved in my experience. My mother became interested in Christian Science when I was a year old and early guided my sister and me in the right path, teaching "us to love and acknowledge God's "mighty acts." We were encouraged to attend regularly a Christian Science Sunday School, and as soon as we could read reasonably well we were given our own copies of the Bible and of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. We were expected to read for ourselves the Lesson-Sermon as it is given in the Christian Science Quarterly. For this good early training, I am grateful.

If illness occurred in the home, as it did at rare intervals, help was sought and found through Christian Science treatment alone. I now realize that we were often protected by my mother's clear understanding of Truth and her consecrated metaphysical work.

In later years I found Christian Science of the greatest help in studying for and taking examinations. I learned to overcome much nervousness and to turn to the all-knowing and unerring Mind. Thus I was able to pass somewhat difficult examinations. The words of Christ Jesus (John 14:26), "The Comforter... shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance," often helped me.
