For thirteen years Christian Science has brought much joy and abundant blessings to our home. I have often given testimonies in our Christian Science Society. Now I feel that it is right that my gratitude reach farther. In thinking of which blessings to mention, I find it difficult to make a selection, for there is so much to tell. Many healings come to my mind, each like a precious pearl.
One night my husband wrenched his ankle. He continued on his way to a meeting of the executive board of his firm and did not get home until some hours later. By that time he could hardly walk, as his ankle had swollen considerably and was very painful. A practitioner was called, and she took up prayerful work for him. The next morning he was able to go to work without a trace of the difficulty.
During the air raids of World War II, when we spent the night in shelters and heard the roar of airplanes and the scream of bombs, I was comforted by the words of the ninety-first Psalm (verses 5, 7), "Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; ...it shall not come nigh thee." I was able to stay calm, even though the bombs fell near our house and there was much fear and dismay expressed around me in the shelter.
