"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget...

From the March 1955 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies" (Ps. 103:2-4). This message has meant much to me, and now it reminds me that I should testify to some of the benefits which have come into my experience because of Christian Science. It is my earnest hope that they may prove as helpful and encouraging to others as other testimonies in the periodicals have been to me.

I became interested in Christian Science when it was requested for my sister, who had been delicate from her earliest years and had not improved under medical care from many physicians. She began attending the Christian Science Sunday School, and my mother and I attended the Sunday church services and Wednesday testimony meetings. My sister gained much good from her Sunday School studies, and her health improved greatly. Later she married and now has four healthy daughters, all born under Christian Science treatment, although medical science had predicted that she would not live until womanhood.

The Christian Science church services appealed to me tremendously; the harmonious, loving atmosphere was like "the shadow of a great rock in a weary land" (Isa. 32:2). The dignity, refinement, order, and beauty of the services were a healing balm.
