Testimonies of Healing

From the October 1958 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I first heard of Christian Science as a child. My mother was healed of tuberculosis of the bone after her case had been pronounced hopeless by medical physicians. After this healing, my sister and I had the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School for about six months. There I gained these wonderful thoughts, which have remained with me ever since: God is good, and God made everything that was made; so everything is good, and if we do not see it that way, then we are not seeing correctly.

Circumstances separated me from any further contact with Christian Science until I was grown and had been married about five years. My sister, who had taken up the study of this Science, asked me why I did not turn to it for the solution of my many problems. Then I commenced a daily study of the Bible and of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, began attending the church services, and placed our two-and-a-half-year-old son in the Sunday School.

So-called childhood diseases, such as mumps, impetigo, chicken pox, and measles, were quickly healed through the help of Christian Science practitioners. Effects of accidents, as well as of scorpion, hornet, and bee stings, were also healed, and false traits of character were overcome.
