My first healing in Christian Science was a beautiful demonstration of God's guidance and of the truth of these words from the Bible (Ps. 103:2, 3): "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases."
After a thorough examination by a physician, I was told that I had a large growth which I had neglected too long, that it was undoubtedly malignant, and that a specialist would be called to operate in the morning. This was on a Thursday, and I immediately asked for a postponement until Monday, to which the doctor reluctantly agreed.
As I left his office, I was not aware of any fear. Although I knew nothing of Christian Science, I did know that in extremities I had always turned to God for guidance. I resolved now to leave the entire matter to God and to follow humbly wherever He might lead me.
