Over twenty years ago I started searching for a satisfying religion in which to rear my children. Knowing my desire, a friend lent me the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. From the beginning of my reading, I became so absorbed in this book that I spent every available moment reading it. When only part way through it, I was healed of social drinking and the smoking habit.
After I had read the textbook through the first time, I began studying the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, enrolled my children in Sunday School, and attended the church services and lectures regularly. Space does not permit me to enumerate all the blessings that have come to me and mine through the study and application of the truth in the writings of our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, which make the enlightened study of the Bible a joy beyond words.
Before I found Christian Science I was a medical nurse. The trend of thinking accompanying that work was discarded, and my medical books went into the furnace. Later, I was led to accept work driving a bus. I was wonderfully protected from many threatening accidents by constant reliance on God's loving care.
