INFINITY IS OUR REMEDY

From the November 1959 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Infinity is a term that the finite, human mind finds difficult to grasp. And yet, infinity is the measure of all things real. The human mind conceives of life with beginning and ending, of time and space within bounds, and of good that is scarce and helpless. But Christian Science, revealing God as one divine Mind, which man in God's likeness reflects, urges upon mankind infinite concepts: eternal life, timeless action, endless space, and good that is supreme in power.

Through infinite concepts, Science destroys sin, lack, sickness, mortality, and all the problems which arise from finite thinking. Infinity, in fact, is the scientific remedy for all human ills. Mary Baker Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 151), "Infinite Mind could not possibly create a remedy outside of itself, but erring, finite, human mind has an absolute need of something beyond itself for its redemption and healing."

Christ Jesus employed infinite concepts as the unfailing remedy for human limitations. He demonstrated the power and freedom which accompany divine ideas that come from God. He said (John 5:34), "I receive not testimony from man." His works showed that infinite testimony received from God rebukes and destroys the finite testimony of the material senses. Jesus' works were highly scientific because they demonstrated the absolute truths of divine Mind.
