PROGRESS THAT SATISFIES

From the November 1959 issue of The Christian Science Journal

If we are not satisfied with the progress we are making, we should examine our thinking. Only as one awakens to God's demands and obeys them will he experience uninterrupted spiritual progress and find lasting happiness. The more constant, unselfed, and inspired our love for God and man, the greater and more satisfying our progress will be.

The desire for spiritual understanding and progress is blessed of God. In fact, such desire is impelled by divine Principle, Love. The life of the Master, Christ Jesus, is the perfect example of submission to the divine will. He found true satisfaction in righteous aims and holy achievements. He proved that Life and Love, when spiritually understood and applied, meet every human need.

Mary Baker Eddy says in her book "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 358): "He that seeketh aught besides God, loseth in Life, Truth, and Love. All men shall be satisfied when they 'awake in His likeness,' and they never should be until then."
