My interest in Christian Science developed...

From the December 1959 issue of The Christian Science Journal

My interest in Christian Science developed through the healing of a friend. Although I did not fully realize it at the time, what I was really seeking was a knowledge of Truth.

My friend's explanation of Christian Science and of man's relationship to God appealed to me, for it was intelligent and logical. I could understand that drugs are not intelligent, that they possess no inherent power to know what to do or where to go, but that they respond only to the power which human belief and practice have erroneously accredited to them.

It became evident to me that there is only one power in the universe and that this power is God. With the aroused desire to know more of God, as well as more of Christian Science, I purchased a copy of Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. This I read with more fervor than I had ever read any book.
