Sharing Love's Gift

From the March 1959 issue of The Christian Science Journal

When first the radiant light of Truth fell on my gaze,
The very heart within me swelled with joy,
And hymns of praise rose from my lips.

Oh, with what eagerness I rushed to fight with self,
The claims of sin and pain;
And as each error fell away, I knew the joy again
Of glorifying God.

But then I knew the battle with oneself was not enough.
My needs were few,
While others cried in darkness for a light,
And the lamp I held could rend the darkest night.

This precious gift from Love, beyond compare,
Was sent by God for all the world to share.
