With a deep sense of gratitude to God for the protection which I have enjoyed throughout the years, I wish to give this testimony of the healing power of Truth as taught by our Master, Christ Jesus, and elucidated by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
One winter day I thought it advisable to run the car for a while in a closed garage before taking it out. I left it running while I dressed, but when I returned to the garage, the motor had stopped. As I was unaware of the poisonous effect of carbon monoxide, I decided to start the car again before opening the garage doors.
I am mindful now of the truth of the Biblical prophecy (Isa. 65:24), "It shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." My husband had taken the children sledding. But when they got to the place where they were to play, it was found that they had forgotten their gloves; so they returned to the house. It was on their return that my husband found me slumped over the steering wheel of the car.
