Christian Science has been my only medicine for over thirty years and has never failed me. I have relied entirely on this Science, and the understanding of God it has given me has aided me greatly in rearing three boys and meeting the many needs in my own experience.
Quite early in my study of Christian Science I was able to bring about a healing through my own work. This strengthened my faith in God. One day one of the boys came in from playing, covered with the rash commonly known as ivy poisoning. It was quite alarming, and I started to call a practitioner when it came to me that I should first try to work it out myself before asking for help.
I made the boy comfortable and gave him the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, to read while I prayed for him. I knew that the healing power of Christian Science is God. I simply tried to know, clearly and positively, that God is All-in-all and that He can include in His creation nothing unlike Himself. This work was continued at intervals throughout the night, because there was little sleep for either of us. The following day the condition, instead of improving, seemed much worse.
