LEARNING TO LOVE CHURCH

According to the measure of their spiritual enlightenment, church means different things to different people. But to everyone seeking to follow the teachings of Christ Jesus, the church is mankind's highest concept of the search for God and of a sanctuary from the fears and sorrows of the world.

To a Christian Scientist, church is of the utmost importance. It supports his daily endeavor to attain a deeper spiritual understanding and thereby a more fruitful and harmonious human experience. Church properly occupies his prayerful thought, as does his home or his business.

In Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy gives a definition of "Church" which is a constant source of blessing to students of Science. It reads as follows (p.583):
