Some years ago when a physical difficulty was causing me constant discomfort, I worked daily in Christian Science, studying the Bible and the writings of Mrs. Eddy; but there was no apparent improvement. One afternoon, as I was reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, the following sentence on page 463 suddenly seemed illumined: "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive."
I had been studying a paragraph on that particular page for weeks, and now this one sentence stayed in my thought, and I kept pondering it. As I studied, the meaning became clearer and deeper to me. I knew I was truly a spiritual idea because I was of God. Therefore I could not possibly contain even a single element or part of error or matter. This fresh revelation of spiritual being also brought the sure knowledge that I was healed, although there was no immediate relief or change in the physical condition.
A few weeks later an atrophied fetus passed in its entirety, leaving no parts adhering and causing no complications.
