It is with great humility I thank God for the many blessings I have received through the application of Christian Science. Most of the problems I have encountered have been solved quickly and completely by reliance solely on this Science.
However, there was one healing which took a long time. As a young child I was plagued with stammering, and as I grew up the condition stayed with me. This was a great humiliation, as well as a hindrance to me in school. While I did not have great difficulty with the written work, I lived in terror of recitation.
I tried to understand more clearly how Jesus healed the man with an impediment in his speech; this healing is related in the seventh chapter of Mark's Gospel. The important thing to me was that the man was healed and "spake plain." I felt confident I too would have my healing.
