It is not only a feeling of deep gratitude that prompts me to tell of an experience of mine, but also the wish that all those who have had to struggle for a long time as I did may gather new hope and courage for the solution of their problems.
Some years ago I lost an interesting and well-paying position. I immediately took every step to obtain other employment. When, after a few months, I realized that I had not achieved anything at all, I felt very much discouraged and disappointed.
In my need I recalled that as a youth I had come in contact with Christian Science. My mother had taken me for some time to the services at a Christian Science church, but I had not gained a very clear concept of its teachings. I did recall, however, that at the Wednesday evening testimony meetings remarkable healings were sometimes related; so I finally decided to go to see a practitioner and to give this religion a trial.
