I have been greatly blessed through my application of Christian Science. While I am deeply grateful for each step upward, there are two experiences which continue to inspire and refresh me.
The first of these occurred during World War II. While my husband was engaged in Army maneuvers, I visited relatives, expecting to join him at his next post. However, prior to my leaving, my husband had a furlough. He told me that although he had searched diligently for a place for me to live near his new camp, he had been unable to locate any kind of accommodation and felt I should remain where I was.
I could not accept this situation as being in accord with the will of our Father-Mother God. Mrs. Eddy's spiritual interpretation of the twenty-third Psalm (Science and Health, p. 578) was a constant source of inspiration, as was the statement, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (ibid., p. 494). We went ahead as we had originally planned. The train trip gave us further opportunity to ponder God's tender, loving care for His children.
