Many years ago my mother suffered a severe nervous breakdown. The doctor's verdict was that she would never be able to live a normal life, that she would not be able to do any work. Her sister, a medical nurse, recommended that she study Christian Science. Through reading and studying Science and Health my mother was soon doing all her own work for a family of five and continued to do so for many years. After her healing she joined The Mother Church and also a branch church.
I am grateful that I was sent to a Christian Science Sunday School, which I attended until I was twenty years of age. I then joined a branch church and later The Mother Church.
Many of our family were attracted to Science through my mother's healing, and numerous other healings have taken place, such as those of so-called children's diseases and quinsy. We have witnessed the normal elimination of an open safety pin swallowed by an infant, and harmonious childbirth has been experienced.
