Gratitude for all the avenues of good that Christian Science has opened in my life prompts me to write this testimony.
Before I began to study Science, I was enslaved by the smoking habit. I longed to be rid of it, but I was never able to give it up although I had tried often. I was confused about many things and had a deep desire to understand God and find some meaning in life. I had never opened a Bible in my life. When a friend took me to a Christian Science Sunday School, I knew I had found the truth. How wonderful it was to have the Bible opened to me by the Christian Science textbook!
After studying Christian Science for about a year, I was freed from the desire to smoke when I gained an understanding of the First Commandment, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me" (Ex. 20:3).
