THE importance of friendliness in every realm of human activity is widely recognized. Most business establishments and organizations impress upon their personnel the value of exerting some effort to make friends. And when attitudes of friendliness are characterized by genuine sincerity, based on universal and impartial love, the results are beneficial to all.
True friendliness is properly regarded as a Christian virtue. In Christian Science it is seen as a spiritual quality derived from divine Love and evidences man's natural reflection of God's goodness. The active expression of true friendliness promotes harmony and progress and lifts one to a better understanding of the Science of being, which blesses all.
Students of Christian Science are taught the immutable truth that man is the expression of God, divine Love, and that therefore he reflects naturally such qualities as friendliness, mercy, and well-being. The degree to which the individual puts his understanding of this truth into practice gives evidence of his scientific acceptance of man's perfection as the son of God.
