THE WEDNESDAY TESTIMONY MEETING

From the October 1964 issue of The Christian Science Journal

ONE of the important activities of the Church of Christ, Scientist, is the Wednesday testimony meeting, approximately one hour in length of time. Almost half that time is at the disposal of those who have benefited from the ministry of Christian Science. Testimonies from the lips of those who have experienced physical healing or who have received moral or spiritual benefits are convincing proofs of the efficacy of its teachings.

Mrs. Eddy was keenly aware of this fact. On pages 546 and 547 of Science and Health she states: "If mathematics should present a thousand different examples of one rule, the proving of one example would authenticate all the others. A simple statement of Christian Science, if demonstrated by healing, contains the proof of all here said of Christian Science."

The testimony meetings are thus seen to be an important stone in the arch of "Church," as our Leader defines it in Science and Health (p. 583):
