I wish to express my gratitude for a healing for which I shall be eternally grateful. It has certainly been a staff on which to lean. All the spiritual truths I needed through this whole experience came to me from attending Wednesday evening testimony meetings, through my daily study of the Lesson-Sermon, given in the Quarterly, and through reading our periodicals.
Several years ago a small growth appeared on my body, and at the time I was amazed to think that anything such as this could try to attach itself to me. Some words of Mrs. Eddy came to me from Science and Health. On page 563 she writes, "We may well be astonished at sin, sickness, and death." And further on in the same paragraph we read, "But why should we stand aghast at nothingness?" I just let it go at that, expecting all the time the growth would disappear.
Several months went by with no apparent change in the condition; and even though it was causing me no trouble whatever, I decided that I did not want to put up with it any longer. One Wednesday morning I took my stand, and with the help of the Bible, Science and Health, and the Concordances to these books, I began to study diligently, trying to get a clearer understanding of God and His likeness. I did nothing else that day but study; and in the evening, when I began to dress for the testimony meeting, I noticed that I was experiencing a good deal of discomfort and pain from the place where the growth was. When I looked, it had grown to at least five times its original size and was a very unpleasant picture.
