Christian Science entered my life when I was placed in the Sunday School at the age of four. My mother had been healed of a stomach disorder after a neighbor gave her some Christian Science literature. My parents became students of Science, and my mother, in her later years, a practitioner. I attended Sunday School until I was twenty, and soon after joined The Mother Church and a branch church, where I have had the opportunity through service of repaying some of my debt for the spiritual instruction given me in Sunday School. This close adherence to Mrs. Eddy's teachings has blessed me greatly. I appreciate the guidance that has been mine through endeavoring to keep my hand in God's and the many instances of healing and protection that have come to me and those close to me.
Shortly before our marriage my husband became a student of Christian Science. We had the blessed privilege of class instruction from the same teacher, at the same time, which has helped us keep our unfoldment of home, substance, and activities refreshed and happy.
From time to time over the years, I had great difficulty in breathing, which induced much suffering, sleeplessness, and restricted activities. This was healed completely through faithful adherence to the teachings of Christian Science, but not before many needed lessons had been learned, fear overcome, and a great deal of purifying and spiritualizing of consciousness had taken place.
