LEARNING OF LIFE

From the March 1966 issue of The Christian Science Journal

After a long, cold winter we rejoice at the first appearing of spring. As the days become warmer, fresh green color appears in the grass, on shrubs and trees; flowers begin to bloom; birds joyously sing. This sense of freshness, of newness that is everywhere hints the newness and joy of the Christ, the true idea of Life, presenting Life as God, eternally beautiful, forever harmonious.

Christian Science enables one to understand that Life is not material, is not finite, is not discordant, but is infinite, all-harmonious Spirit. Just a moment's realization of Life as God does wonders for us, so powerful is the Christ, Truth.

But we cannot be satisfied with merely an occasional glimpse of reality. Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. 496), "We all must learn that Life is God." These words alert us to see how much there is for us to do as we understand that we are not going to learn only a little of God, are not going to have some sense of Life as God, but are going to understand Life completely as God, are going to know Life as it really is.
