In childhood the Bible was my favorite book, and I often regretted that Jesus' healing method, although passed on to others by the disciples, was eventually lost and was not available to us.
In adulthood I inquired about Christian Science, and copies of the Christian Science Sentinel were given to me. The testimonies fascinated me; and although the articles seemed written in a strange language, I became deeply interested in them and wanted to understand them. Often I looked up the quotations from the Bible and from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and many of these are still my favorite healing truths.
When an operation was prescribed for me for the removal of a tumor, I turned wholeheartedly to the study of Christian Science, and for three years all I wanted to do was to read Science and Health. I felt starved for the truth and read on and on, never wanting to stop.
