The Annual Meeting of The Mother Church, held June 6, marked a divide between the first and second centuries of the Christian Science movement. It drew an exceptional number of Christian Scientists from all sections of the United States and from around the globe. Those attending heard reports from headquarters and from the Field, as well as a selection of incidents of Christian Science healing. As they listened, their thoughts reached humbly and gratefully back across the achievements of the past century to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, who, alone, under divine impulsion, launched this movement. Their thoughts also reached forward in confidence and joy past tasks immediately ahead to the continuing opportunities for service to God and men which await the Christian Science movement throughout the next hundred years.
