The Board of Trustees of The Christian Science Publishing Society, with the concurrence of The Christian Science Board of Directors, has elected Mrs. Florence C. Southwell of Orlando, Florida, a member of the Board of Trustees effective October 17, 1966.

Mrs. Southwell is a native of South Bend, Indiana. She attended George Washington University in Washington, District of Columbia, and for some years was employed as an accountant for the United States Government. Later she served as assistant manager of a statewide business in Florida.

When Mrs. Southwell was four years old, her father was healed, the family took up the study of Christian Science, and she was enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School. In 1937 she became a member of The Mother Church. In 1944 she received class instruction, and six years later entered the public practice of Christian Science. A member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Orlando, Mrs. Southwell has served as Second Reader, member of the executive board, treasurer, and in other capacities.
