God, being divine Mind, evolves ideas to express His nature and goodness. Without ideas He would not be Mind, or intelligence. Since He is infinite Principle, the only cause, ideas come exclusively from Him. Mrs. Eddy writes, "Principle and its idea is one, and this one is God, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent Being, and His reflection is man and the universe."

According to Christian Science, the essential oneness of God and man as Mind and its idea is the underlying reality of communication. God continually communicates to His creation the facts of Spirit. He requires no medium, mechanism, or interval of time to transmit His radiance to every corner of the universe; divine communication is the outcome of His being, and man is the object of His message. On the basis of the allness and goodness of God and His creation, Christ Jesus healed sickness, sin, and death. He demonstrated that because these errors are no part of the divine message, they have no claim on man; and the Master did not depend on personal communication for healing, as is shown in the cases of the centurion's servant and the nobleman's son.
Until humanity recognizes man's status as the recipient of God's communication, material means will appear necessary for transmitting and receiving ideas. As human thought discards limitations and approaches spirituality, means of communication are improved in scope and range, in instantaneity and fidelity.
