My parents became interested in Christian Science in 1907, and I was privileged to attend a Christian Science Sunday School at intervals for several years. I am grateful for that opportunity, because the seed of Truth was embedded so firmly in my consciousness that I have never doubted the healing and saving power of Science.
I have been healed of heart trouble, sick headaches, cuts, burns, and a nervous condition that almost incapacitated me for several months. I have also been healed of hay fever which had become so severe that I had lost all sense of taste and smell, and my hearing was becoming affected. I was praying to see the unreality of error and to be shown the lesson I needed to learn, but I was steadily growing worse.
One day it occurred to me that I was seeing the same disease as real in the experience of two friends, thereby accepting it as real for myself. I immediately reversed my thinking and saw clearly the perfection of man as God's image and likeness, as Christian Science teaches. Then I saw that the law of God is perfect and was in operation for me and for everyone. The healing began immediately, and the discomfort gradually disappeared, never to return.
