Christ Jesus commanded his disciples, "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils." Matt. 10:8; Today Christian Science demands of its followers that they also obey these commands.
While the student of this Science finds that the truths contained in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy comfort and heal him, he also discovers that a demand is made upon him to practice these truths. The loyal student meets this demand by casting sin out of himself; and, in the measure that he does so, he becomes fitted to cast evil out of others, and thus is able to obey the Master's commands fully.
At this period, through mass communication and the shrinking of distances, all of mankind's ills and calamities are laid before us. Are some of us stunned into helpless inactivity through this unveiling, or are we too stolidly occupied with self to be concerned? If so, we shall be forced to reckon with evil in other alarming forms in the future.
