How blessed a student of Christian Science feels when he knows that he has gained a purer vision of the Christ and realized security in his alliance with eternal Truth. And happily for all, this remarkable spiritual gladness may be sought and gained by anyone who has the desire for it. The study of Mrs. Eddy's divinely inspired writing is a marvelous means of increasing one's understanding of the ever-present Christ, Truth.
Mrs. Eddy says: "St. Paul wrote, 'Rejoice in the Lord always.' And why not, since man's possibilities are infinite, bliss is eternal, and the consciousness thereof is here and now?" Miscellaneous Writings,p. 330; A person who is eager to experience the joy of demonstrating God's ever-presence will find it helpful to question himself: "Am I consciously living in the now? Am I aware of Love's blessings, and is it my practice to recognize and make use of them in the current hour?"
Without doubt, because the carnal, or mortal, mind has a very strong tendency to dwell in the past and to look forward with eager anticipation or fear to the future and its events, great effort to keep thought turned Spiritward is required if one is to be constantly cognizant of the immediate presence of good.
