Annual Meeting of The Mother Church

On June 5 The Mother Church held its first Annual Meeting in the second century of Christian Science. The focus of this year's meeting was on the specific spiritual goals which The Mother Church has set for itself as it moves into this new century. Several thousand Christian Scientists from across the United States and from many distant lands assembled to hear progress reports from officers and departments of The Mother Church and from representatives of the worldwide Field. Reports of some notable instances of Christian Science healing were also read. The participants in the meeting left for home equipped to cooperate actively and understanding in achieving the goals set itself by The Mother Church and to carry forward with joy, wherever they may live, the work of their beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.

A detailed account of the reports given at the meeting follows.

The meeting opened with the singing of the hymn "'Feed My Sheep'" (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 304), the words of which are by our Leader, Mrs. Eddy. The retiring President, , then read passages from the Bible and the writings of Mrs. Eddy:
