Having been reared in Christian Science and having had the great privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School from the time I was two, I have seen many wonderful proofs of the omnipotence and omnipresence of God. I should like to express gratitude for all the good that has come into my experience through a growing understanding of the allness of God, good, and particularly for a healing I experienced several years ago.
One morning when I awakened, I found that the left side of my face was paralyzed. I was so conscious of God's presence and care that there was no room for any sense of fear or dismay; I was completely calm and knew that my perfection as God's child is inviolable. I had been experiencing some discomfort for a few days prior to this, and just the evening before, I had requested treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. I knew that the practitioner should be told of this development. When I telephoned to report the condition, I joyously included the thought that this healing would make a wonderful testimony! I had no sense of the condition being part of me and knew that in reality it was no part of my spiritual identity as the perfect child of God.
During the next several days with the support of the practitioner, I worked to understand more fully man's unity with omniactive Mind, to know that man is the expression of Mind and that no power can deny, hinder, or paralyze spiritual activity. I knew that the senses of Soul are the only real senses of man and that these senses are spiritual, unimpaired, and a permanent part of man's heritage as the perfect child of God.
