"Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,...

From the May 1968 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy" (Ps. 107:2).

For over a year before attending my first Christian Science lecture, I had been under the constant care of physicians for what was diagnosed as a serious heart condition. Much of this time I was bedridden. The medical profession offered little hope for my recovery, and the consensus was that if survival were possible I would be a semi-invalid the rest of my life.

In attending the lecture, I did not expect a physical healing, but I did hope for something that would enlighten me about God and my relationship to Him. The explanation of God as Love gave me something to hold on to. I had never before felt so close to God. I acquired a copy of the lecture and found great comfort and solace in reading it daily. My spiritual hunger was being satisfied.
