We read in the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, this statement (p. 449): "A grain of Christian Science does wonders for mortals, so omnipotent is Truth, but more of Christian Science must be gained in order to continue in well doing." I have seen this grain at work in my own experience and also in the experience of others.
When I first became interested in this Science, I knew very little about religion apart from what a small boy may learn from a few visits to Sunday School. When I left home as a youth to join a theatrical company in another state, I soon learned that eight members of the show were going to a Christian Science church. Curiosity impelled me to go with them one Sunday night. I was so impressed with what I saw and heard that I remember promising myself that if ever I got around to a religion that one would be the one for me, for there seemed to be reason in it. But at that time I was not ready for it.
Some years later I met another actor whom I had not seen since we were together in the first company I had joined. There was a big change for the better in him, and he told me that in England he had become interested in Science. We had several talks about it, and on Sunday morning I called at his hotel to have another chat but found he was going to church. I went with him and have been going ever since.
