Christian Science came into my experience many years ago when a relative offered me a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I gladly accepted the book and began to read it.
I had read not more than perhaps two or three pages when I could see clearly that here was something radically different. As I read on, my eyes began to open to a new and wonderful world—the world of Spirit. I read the book at every opportunity. At first I was impressed by the marvelously clear logic of the statements—logic which could not be challenged. Later its healing value unfolded to me.
For a good many years prior to beginning that first reading of the textbook, Science and Health, I suffered severely every summer from poison ivy. I had tried numerous material remedies to no avail. However, the poison ivy season was not on, nor had I any other physical problems that I knew of. so I gave little or no thought to being healed. My thought was completely absorbed in the spiritual unfoldment that Science and Health was revealing to me. The following summer I was free of the condition for the first time in many years; and I have never again had the condition since reading the textbook that first time.
