I would like to share a few instances when the knowledge of God's ever-presence has sustained our family.
There have been physical challenges. At one period my son, who was twelve, was brought home in a state of delirium. He had head injuries, and I became extremely frightened. I called a Christian Science practitioner to pray for the boy and then contacted my teacher of Christian Science who, assuring me that God was in control, supported my prayers. I kept working with the boy, getting him to declare, "God is my Life," over and over again, but the situation seemed to be deteriorating rapidly. I contacted the practitioner again and said I felt he should come to the house immediately, which he did. He went into the room with the boy and shut the door.
In my reaching out to God for understanding and support, I clung to the passage from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, that states (p. 424), "Accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind, and we must leave the mortal basis of belief and unite with the one Mind, in order to change the notion of chance to the proper sense of God's unerring direction and thus bring out harmony.
