The Sure Road of Progress

From the November 1973 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It can be helpful for the student of Christian Science to examine himself from time to time to see how he is progressing spiritually.

Progress in Christian Science is not measured by the number of years one has been a student of this Science. Growth and accomplishment are always a matter of successful demonstration. Demonstration signifies that one has spiritually understood what one has learned and can apply it successfully.

Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health: "To ascertain our progress, we must learn where our affections are placed and whom we acknowledge and obey as God. If divine Love is becoming nearer, dearer, and more real to us, matter is then submitting to Spirit. The objects we pursue and the spirit we manifest reveal our standpoint, and show what we are winning." Science and Health, p. 239;
